2.5L Optimax maintenance in U.S dollars.
NGK 5887 $12 each $72 total
96148A8 impeller kit with all o-rings and replacement cup $60
Quart mercury high performance lower unit oil $20
Mercury fuel filter $28
875284T01 oil filter $12
$192 total without leaving my chair. Sucks they hit you so hard on prices. You going to take to dealer for oil pump prime after changing filter or can you do that yourself?
Merc mechanic mate swears that because the oil filter is on the low pressure side that a pump prime should not be necessary?
Plugs were $30 ea from auto shop mate, dealer ones would've been $40...

Wonder what it cost for shipping for you. This is what $60 gets you on the impeller kit. I don't know on the oil prime. Most people say if you open the lines do a prime.

Morning / Evening All.

Lots of media talk locally about Tennessee and North Carolina this morning. Apparently a somewhat local called in a couple os swatting incidents at some school down there. Hopefully the media down there doesn’t think we’re all *a-holes.

Cool 42f with a little low fog this morning.

Evening knuckle humpers.
Did a little more cleaning up on the 262 extra peas.
I'm thinking crank seals were a lot of the problem. Flywheel side looks pooched. Bearing doesnt look great either. Think both will get replaced.
Still have to figure out how the oiler pump and drive gear comes off.
Anyhoo, enough saw tinkering. Its about nighty night time.

If you are replacing the crank bearings, you can just push it off with the bearings and seals all in one shot.
HL Supply offers an adapter for a puller for sale, or one can be made from a 3/4" x 1/2"? pipe reducer.
Fashion a driver from a 1/2" or so piece of pipe heat gear and tap on.
