Sorry to hear this. There is nothing like losing a spouse/ parent while they are still alive. Mom’s declining dementia was especially hard to watch. It was incredibly hard as Elliott never got to know grandma the way everyone else did.

Anything you can do to make mom’s life better or easier now, just do it. I mean if it means showing up with the lift chair in the truck do it. Dad will forgive you when he she’s that it has made her life a little easier.
Thanks Gary. Probably the way thats gonna go.
Sorry your mom had to fight with age related dementia. Thats not taken seriously enough. My grandmother suffered with that. My dad thought it was Alzheimer's. It wasn't. She knew what was going on.
That was worse for her somehow, knowing she was having those "moments" and coming back and forth. Not being able to "fix" it.
Just have to be there when you can, and know you did the best you could to help.
End of the day, everyone living has to keep on living.

This ^^^^^^ Brent.
I lost my mom in '95. Struck by a car crossing the road at night. I wasn't really speaking with her much.
I can never get that back. This continued on with my father. He was part of the reason I kept my distance even though they were separated. I kept my distance with him too, although not quite as much. This led me to loose contact with much of my family over the years until his death in '15. There is much of my actions I regret. Life is short. Spend what time you can with them both. It is well worth it.

If you need an ear, even just to listen, my PM is open friend.
i have always been close to my mom and this spring i made sure i was there and i know she was happy for that

If I had to wear a shirt Jason's size it'd be like moving a marquee from the inside.
I'm telling you hes NOT that big. Just has ALL the Tapeworms.
We could start a gofundme for some cattle wormer. He just needs Ivomec.
Not it on being the one to give it to him..

Yep.
My sister in law told my wife she really just wanted to be with her son for a few minutes. She left and came home for a few days.
Other sisters and their kids posted a vigil like thing at the hospice facility for days. They finally all left for a few and my nephew showed up to see his mom.
She was gone as soon as he left.
Thats all she was waiting for.
