Well the heat has arrived. Got up early before the heat and drug a few more ash logs out of the woods for the firewood shed build. Time for a sit down and probably the coldest beer I can find in the fridgeView attachment 300723

Upgrade or replacement vent on the Harley Ferguson John? How come there's pressure at all?
Upgrade but not a recall. Not a factory vent in the transmission. Transmission builds pressure and sumps oil into the primary. This little kit eliminates the problem. Just have to drill a 11/32" hole in upper corner of case and install a rubber vent hose.

Heat builds pressure, has to go somewhere. Axles, transmissions ect. on vehicles have vents for this reason. Without them they could build enough pressure to leak past the seals.

Ah yeah, but John's pic appeared to show a dry drive. Makes perfect sense that the wet gearbox is venting to the primary if it's poorly vented originally, just wasn't immediately obvious to me which side was the issue StevO.

Plus, i don't see so good after niteshift sometimes...
