The LBZ Duramax is supposed to be rock solid. The LB7 and LLYs had some issues but they can be made reliable.

Honestly if I was gonna buy a diesel I would go with with an LB7 or LLY. People beat off to the LBZ and now the prices of them have skyrocketed. I like my Fords but Ford hasn't had a good diesel since the 7.3L.

when i was early 20s i worked in a garage and worked on more fords than any other brands
ball joints and tie rods should last longer than 15000 miles

i did a heater core on a 98 f250 and to get the hoses off i was elbow deep under the cab section and took me 14 hours to change everything had to come out of the dash to get to it
