Just seems like it should be somewhere we’re you actually control the lift gate and would have the chance to accidentally bump it to a different position.

My wife's last vehicle had a power lift gate with the switch in that location.
She never used it.
She either opened it with the TouchPad on the gate or with the key fob.
After a short time she forgot that switch was even there.
She could have it set to open full as it would clear in our garage even with the garage door open.
