ive drove 2 hours each way for work and if i do have to stay in a hotel ill spend a little extra for a better place

Company is decent about putting us up in ok hotels.
If I have to drive 2 hours one way, I'll usually stay overnight or however long, as long as its not a chit hole.
4+ hours of driving and 12+ hours at work makes bosslady happy on payday, but its a little hard on an old fat bastid.
All that being said, ive spent some short nights in some REALLY chitty motels back in the earlier days.
Used to just work from can to can't, flop for 3 or 4 hours, then back at it or on to the next Clusterfugg.

Driving sucks. Rebath would make me drive 3 hrs one way, do a job and drive home. Now if you wanted to stay the night in a motel you could but on your dime. Next kicker... we did one job every day so the next job might be 3 hrs the opposite direction from my home which would total 6 hrs away from the previous days job so you had no choice but to drive home exhausted and dead tired. Plus they expected alot of unpaid duties from you like drive time, unloading garbage from the truck and loading up a job. Now if you drove 3 hrs to a job and the customer says sorry I'll have to reschedule, you just spent a day driving plus have to unload that job from the truck and reload another job all unpaid. I hated that job. So much happier now

i wouldnt have lasted long there
i do have to drive on my time but i dont have to worry about being sent somewhere else unless i want to go which wont happen again after the last time of their ignorance

was on a job and got asked to go to another plant for a couple days because they couldnt get anyone to go
so i went and got the job done and when i showed up to the original plant the following day my brass was off the wall in brass shack
they had signed me off the clearances like i was laid off
so after signing back on clearance tags we was in the office and i looked at the superintendent and said
its apparent im no longer needed here put me on the next *f-wording lay off
this was on a saturday morning
i didnt do a *f-wording thing except show up until the following friday when they was laying off again

they dont pull that *s-word on me anymore
they know if im pissed or i get *f-worded over i will *f-word the eyeballs out of them harder than they can do anything to me
