2. Coz you're grumbling about the heat. I do all those things, in shorts. Sometimes shorts with overalls over em granted, but back to shorts asap. It's my thing. Wet pants take longer to dry than wet legs too.

Same here. I've welded in shorts many times. Got all ma other gear on and sometimes the coveralls.

my arms look like a speckled pup from scars and i try not to add more to them
even wear long sleeves when working on a car
just a habit i gotten in

I was the only guy on our machine repair crew with long sleeve uniforms. Easier to wash up at days end too.
