See how bad I am. Running 394's here but only one 385 or 390 jug here. I do have a 395 jug sitting on one chassis

Ron from NY sent me a pile for bench setups and test cuts for the machinist to jig up with. I rarely see them for repairs, rebuilds or mods. Bought a few for myself to play with.
I just know mostly the 200 and 300 husky’s. I’m way behind on the rest and prefer not to even mess with the 462s and such. I like working on old cheaper stuff. I do my own machine work and porting but I’m actually way green when it comes to repairing saws. I’m just a Coonass that hops *s-word up.

Hi Todd! Doing well. It's Good Friday here in Greece.

How knowledgeable are you on the different types of Eucalyptus trees? I'm trying to study up on the ones we have.

We've got a bunch of imported ones here and I'm trying to talk to homeowners on the best pruning methods to strengthen the trees.

People here in the past have just butchered them and the regrowth is weak so the limbs end up dropping in high winds and snowstorms.

Dan, I'm no expert but I do know that there are literally thousands of different types, and the ones I do know also have a reputation for dropping sometimes very large branches. From my observations tree guys mostly seem to justtake out dead wood, branches etc but I don't have any knowledge as to actual pruning. Google is probably your friend here.

You mfers seen anything about this?

https://www.liquidpiston.com/
Just looked it over. Seems reasonable to operate.
Drawbacks will be low torque because you have one piston running three cycles in a circle.
Expensive but efficient seems about right.
Never scale up enough to be a hand held anything. Gen set would be a good choice if the bearings and ceramic coatings hold up. Fresh clean air is a must.

Thanks Mark! I'm going to spend some time talking with a friend that has a nursery. Difficult species for me to identify, but one that pops up quite often needing work.

Seems like basically a more economical Compact turbo jet engine because it provides the same functionality without needing an external combustion chamber and 1 rotor is cheaper to manufacture than a compressor stage and a turbine stage.

Thought you were on 3120's this week?

The 3120s are done.

Or... he ports cylinders while catching a nap on the shop stool.

I probably could grind a port in my sleep. Hell I'm about to nod off now. LOL

I remember talking with a guy who was getting starting porting a few years ago. I told him that he needed to feel for humps and bumps when doing the upper transfers instead of trying to see into the port.....then I realized how that musta sounded to him. LOL

I am pretty sure @Stump Shot told us his side of that story once...
