Does it have a front pocket?
My wife won't throw any of mine in the washer until I turn it inside out and hit it with compressed air.
I have a *s-wordty Carhartt one I wear often dealing with wood. Pocket was half ripped off anyway, so it got complete removed. Problem solved.

Smoke tested the induction system and it's building serious crankcase pressure...

Just pipe that smoke back to the intake. If it has pressure it will be fine as force induction

Vega's from the 70's were fun in the 80's with no cylinder walls left in them. Good stuff

That really sucks. Has GM made a revision to the pistons for these, or do the cracked ones get replaced with same thing?

I don't know the answer to that.
Auto companies change parts suppliers and manufacturers constantly. If theres a part number supercession it's likely a revised part or new supplier.
Or it's replacing it with the same *s-word I'm removing.
