Well I just got home from work. They were cooking up steam before I left. I’ll find out in the morning if they hit line trouble free or ran into issues again with sticking 60+ year old valves. Not the valves fault they weren’t replaced sooner lol
Are parts still available or are they custom made to suit

So the controls part is us and it’s well maintained. The steam valves are serviced by Siemens. They have not supported our valves for quite some time so they do their best to repair them and limp them along all the while telling us new valves need to be installed. Problem with that. Old reliable controls don’t work on modern EHC valves and the complete system would need to be retrofitted as most turbines have been. Only a matter of time before the inevitable happens though.

Not available at all but some machine shop they send what spare parts we have to makes new parts for it and sends them back so we have them on hand
That must cost an absolute fortune to do that .But on the other hand it’s probably far cheaper than replacement

Maybe it’s coming down to the price factor of the retrofit, that wouldn’t be cheap.

Oh ya that retrofit is The last thing they want to do. The owners say they will try other companies to service the valves if Siemens won’t. We shall see in my career some valves being replaced. Maybe they will be purchased from a decommissioned unit. I think that’s what they are hoping for so they can have them completely rebuild. Finding them will be a chore. They could rebuild these but they don’t want the down time. Also won’t as long as they get by. It’s run til failure here

I’ll say we have a modern EHC system On our coal burner and and I’ve had to repair more chafed wiring, Microprocessor cards, LVDS etc, at any given moment a lot of electronics can fail. It’s less reliable.

My friend bought a house from a woman I work with
The friend kept hearing something rattling in the master bedroom
Vent
So she took a floor vent out and found about a
2ft dent puller in a plastic bag.
She told me about it
And I told her she still had a year's builder's warranty on it
She laughed.

She said please don't ask that woman you work with about it
I said of course not.

So the next time I saw the woman I work with I asked if she left anything valuable in the duct work
She just turned and walked away.
Comedy gold today! :D

It’s always the way but when there’s a failure generally it’s catastrophic in your situation

Good evening, boys,
Since I started brushing dust off the chainsaws, I carefully started making a parts list later.
And since I forgot the part number of the NGK plugs I have had to search online lol
This is how it is to get old and senile.

Well, had to double check that it was not the damn plugs to 550. And it made me read through the IPL for both 550 mark II and 560.
I have never been a fan of the Mark II, have always believed that Husqvarna designed a beast of a 50cc, and I have never bought the argument that it was necessary to redesign due to x number of major weaknesses.
When I see the IPL of 562 and 560, I understand even less why Husqvarna had to design the heavy fat chicken 550 mark II.

This is the music for me tonight:
Been loving the Cowboy Junkies stuff Tor. Thanks for reminding me of them.
Good evening OPE hope everyone had a great week .I like this guys fall protection :eek:View attachment 290573
