If anyone ever wondered why we celebrate the Marine Corps Birthday even after we have left service, this may help you understand.

Morning slack kings. Supposed to see 1-3 inches of snow today then 3-5 tonight. It has been three weeks since our last storm but that is all gone. I have on call this week so hopefully I can get these couple jobs done today and go home and not have to go back out in the storm that is coming.

Hershel "Woody" Williams is one of the finest men you will meet. He is the Marine that speaks first in this video. He earned the Medal of Honor at the Battle of Iwo Jima in WWII. He a representative of the kinds of people that made America great, and kept America free. The story of his life and heroism is one that every school aged child should learn. Happy Birthday USMC!
