As a foreign national I have to say you electoral system is a mess.

I don’t understand why local counties get to decide the voting / counting procedures in a national election. One set of rules that is the same everywhere just makes sense to me.

It is not the electoral process. In all due respect the founders provided for this process. The "counting" of the votes and changes in processes is something perhaps they could not have foreseen.
The propensity to try to have one's way based upon whatever dishonest method is what is at the heart of this issue. My 2 pennies. Thanks for your input from one who is out side our country. It
does help me to see how others view this situation.
