Our county has been spreading ag lime on the roads.

Does it work?

We have sand...after they grind the rocks into it.

Really well. Calcium in the lime seems to help melt the ice, and the lime is course ground so it helps with traction.

I have some ag lime we hauled in in the fall. I’m about to spread it on this dang hill! I did take our grader down the road and bust up to ice the plows were just riding over. My wife threatened me saying I was trying to get her back to work earlier! Didn’t work, they are out tomorrow as well, lol.

Long day. Hauled a steer we called Fat Boy to the slaughterhouse. He weighed in at 1290lb. I have no idea what that is in commie land. When I got back, I caught a steer to ween it and put it in with Pork Chop the black bull. He'd be lonely without Fat Boy. Finally got the two of them in the barn together and water hauled. Rolled out a couple of bales of hay......then went and got some propane. Time to fugh off.
