In my country, you can defend your livestock if they are attacked by a hunting dog, and you can shoot it as a last resort to save your livestock.
If it is a predator such as a wolf, bear, your livestock is in a bad position when it comes to the self-defense clause.
Same here.i shot 2 one time that was after my cows the owner didn't like it and I didn't like doing it but the law said I had the right to do it.

Funny you mention that Allen, last night about 9:45 my dogs flip out and want outside. Let them into back yard and they are losing their chit. Couple of hounds in the woods behind the house howling up a storm. I see nobody on the thermal. So out I go with the wife's AR, a spotlight, and thermals. Tight thicket in the valley, so I go around and down into the valley, no people, just the dogs. Cletus and Billybob start coming out of the back field wood line looking for the dogs. I backed into a cedar thicket and let them pass. Fuggin coon hunting 100' from my back door. My dogs are freaking out, goats are spooked. I walk up behind them and ask what the fugg you boys doing. I thing I heard the turds fall out of their asses and land on the ground.

Long story short, they won't be doing that again. They asked if it was alright if they came back. WTF? Not sure I want anyone hunting behind the house at night. Also, no, I am not posted no hunting. Common decency says you don't hunt peoples back yards. My wife wants to post signs. I told her no, as I don't want to be that guy. Why can't people use their heads. 50 acres of woods behind me, and they come up near the house. Idiots.
The hunter can’t control where the dogs are going to tree. They’re going where the coon is going. Big tracts of land are getting fewer and fewer nowadays. That is the main reason this type of hunting is disappearing. It’s kinda sad but I do understand your frustration.

That's what I always tried to explain to people my dogs can't read no trespassing signs and I'm not there on purpose.i've only had to call the law twice so they would come escort me on somebody's property to get my dogs because they wouldn't let me on their land.that was always fun watching them get in the officers face cussing us out😂

Funny story to me anyway.the same neighbor from Florida put up no trespassing signs about every 20 ft on the line fence that me,dad and granddad built 30 years ago.i went thru pulled them all down and put them in his mail box about a week later they are back up.i put them back in his mailbox this went on for 6 months, finally one day a county deputy showed up asking me what my problem was,I told him about us building the fence 30 yrs ago and that guy just moved in.it's my fence and I don't want the signs on it and if he really wants the signs up he can put posts in his field and yard and attach them,he left and went back to the neighbors haven't seen a sign since.
