Just post your land, Larry. It’s commonplace here. Gives you a leg to stand on should you need to take anyone to court. And with your livestock, and dogs, etc, without signs, the judge may not side with you if your animals get killed because a stray bullet from a hunter that shouldn’t even be there.Funny you mention that Allen, last night about 9:45 my dogs flip out and want outside. Let them into back yard and they are losing their chit. Couple of hounds in the woods behind the house howling up a storm. I see nobody on the thermal. So out I go with the wife's AR, a spotlight, and thermals. Tight thicket in the valley, so I go around and down into the valley, no people, just the dogs. Cletus and Billybob start coming out of the back field wood line looking for the dogs. I backed into a cedar thicket and let them pass. Fuggin coon hunting 100' from my back door. My dogs are freaking out, goats are spooked. I walk up behind them and ask what the fugg you boys doing. I thing I heard the turds fall out of their asses and land on the ground.
Long story short, they won't be doing that again. They asked if it was alright if they came back. WTF? Not sure I want anyone hunting behind the house at night. Also, no, I am not posted no hunting. Common decency says you don't hunt peoples back yards. My wife wants to post signs. I told her no, as I don't want to be that guy. Why can't people use their heads. 50 acres of woods behind me, and they come up near the house. Idiots.

It's jail time now in Tennessee if you mess with a hunting dog.we finally got them to pass the law after years of trying.Just post your land, Larry. It’s commonplace here. Or a deer hunter shooting all of Larry’s bambi’s …Or a slip and fall on the property
I have a digger, a slip and fall will disappear! Lol. Any shooting of my livestock would be deliberate. So would the return fire. I am not sure these two bobo's can read. I am sure they won't be back, but there are always more bobo's!Or a slip and fall on the property
Not sure I understand this. If someone's dogs start attacking my goats, and I shoot the dogs, I am in the wrong? I left the dogs be, as they weren't doing anything but chasing a coon. Had they gone after my goats, I would have "messed" with them. It's jail time now in Tennessee if you mess with a hunting dog.we finally got them to pass the law after years of trying.
Them nuts is on yo chin.we know you like salty nuts

If they are after livestock or attacking pets that's different.we just had problems with people trying to keep the dogs or taking the tracking collars off and throwing them in rivers or ponds.the first one to get prosecuted and jail was a woman from greenback or tellico plains over a bear dog.Not sure I understand this. I don't believe their are any bad dogs, just bad owners. I don’t think what you did the those good ol’ boys was wrong. However, had they not been scared, or wanted to get aggressive over it, without your land being posted, you got nothing in the eyes of the law. Just my 2 cents.I don't believe their are any bad dogs, just bad owners. Just wanted to make sure is all.
I am pretty sure you are not allowed to hunt within a certain distance of a dwelling. I will have to look into that. I took an international hunter education course and I remember something about it. Will check TN hunting laws and see if there is anything there, since common sense has been replaced by statutes, and laws.I don’t think what you did the those good ol’ boys was wrong. I was always nice when I had to go on somebody's land I didn't know to get my dogs.unless they wanted to be an ass then I became a bigger oneI don't believe their are any bad dogs, just bad owners. Just wanted to make sure is all.

I wish the world was more like you are talking about, with common sense and respect all around. Trouble is, the world ain’t that way.I am pretty sure you are not allowed to hunt within a certain distance of a dwelling. I will have to look into that. In my country, you can defend your livestock if they are attacked by a hunting dog, and you can shoot it as a last resort to save your livestock. Not sure I understand this. I think in dove hunting it's something like a hundred yards.i asked twra about it but I don't remember the exact number.i don't know about any other hunting but my neighbor from Florida was raising h**l about a guy putting a tree stand up on my line fence it's about 75 ft from his back door and he called twra about it and they come to the house and told me not to worry about it and tell the guy he can leave it there if he wants.I am pretty sure you are not allowed to hunt within a certain distance of a dwelling.
