I love junk yards 🥰
i grew up right at the middle of my uncles junkyard until i was 12
learned mechanics from the mechanics that worked on the big trucks and such
helped crush cars in the summer and got to play with copperheads and snapping turtles

Good point, though, he might prefer hemorrhoid asses these days.

Good looking logs.what kind of truck you got straight or semi?
Thanks. I actually don’t own a log truck. All the mills have self-loaders, straights with a pup, and they always include the trucking in the bid. Just standard practice here. I don’t know of any logger that owns his own truck, but I do know one trying to buy one.. If it’s not favorable for us to be logging, it’s certainly not favorable for a log truck to get to the logs.

All the mills ask, after they scale, bid, win the logs, is that I bunch them up a bit with the skidder so the trucks don’t have to reset much.

This was the landing that I just sold on Thursday, and bunched yesterday. While waiting for the bids to come in, I filled the landing up on the next field that I bucked today.

Side note: now that the snow is moving in for the season, I’ll buck what I’ve dragged out daily, so they aren’t all covered with snow/ice when it comes time to wrap it up. I’ll still have to clean off the logs, but not nearly as much.

$10 will not get ya anywhere these days, it's not 1978 anymore.
I got married in 78 (you pick which millennium) and 20-25 years ago when I’d tell the kids to clean up their room I would hear the sound of them throwing change into the waste can in their room

It had zero value to them even back tgen

Money I would have killed for as a kid
