good morning,

got 238G in the mail today, haven't seen anything further about it. The hope is that 3 will provide a functional 238G/SG.
From the quick things I can see is that it has been on the ground for much of its life, the chain has probably come off a couple of times.
It is dirty and needs washing while I take a pressure and vacuum check at the same time.
Even though c&p should be good, it gets a lot of new parts.

The background to 238, for my part, is a long story.
Many years ago I bought a 133SG project, which actually turned out very well in the end, but an 80's saw of only 34cc is really meh. But it belongs in a Husky collection, and it was the origin of 242 and 246.
133/234/238 vs 242/246 is a lower cylinder and also a lower top cover, becomes like 254 vs 262.

So due to the meh feel the 133 had, I wanted a working 238sg/g.
The first one I bought had a crank issue, inner race spinning, but I powder coated it.
I bought a used crank, same fault.
Then I bought a nice 238SE this year, which I haven't started to work on, came across a defective 238 body, with toasted top c&p, but it's the crank I'm hoping for. I also bought this one that I got today, have the same hope for a crank in case the other one doesn't give a crank. With luck there may be two of these.

On the road in the 238 adventure I have bought a nos top end, start covers, top covers lol

Someone check on @dall. That's a lot of crank talk for a guy of his disposition.

Picked this thing up today. I've wanted a small quiet generator but didn't want to spend what people want for Hondas. I've read that these use a little more fuel but they're just as reliable.View attachment 436539
Anyone else with any experience?
I never knew Subaru had generators

I have a Champion that converts gasoline into electricity. I'm sure that will to.
