Just to expand on this a bit: Ace Hardware’s are franchised. So each owner decides for himself whether or not they want to be a Stihl Dealer. Not all of them are.

They promised him that no other dealer would ever sell in his area
I'm not sure the radius but I'm guessing it wasn't the 1 mile away bridgeport equipment
It really hurt his business
Surprisingly to you guy's i buy a lot of oem stihl parts from him
For the *B-S.... i work on for people.
He sold me a 015 fuel line that had to be 40 year's old it crumbled when i went to install it.

Similar thing happened around here when John Deere “partnered” with Stihl for their OPE line. Every Deere dealer now carries Stihl. One dealership 15 minutes away from me in the same town as an old school existing Stihl dealer blocks away, and another 20 minutes away, blocks away from the original dealer… It’s dumb.

I bought some of the hipa chain to try out I bought some but only have a couple tanks on the 84dl full chisel it stretched a little initially but seems to have settled Cuts good no chatter Post up if anyone is running it.

i bought like 16 chains for that with free shipping.

I haven't priced chain locally in a couple years but it was about $35ea last time I bought any, and at my dealer the second one is $1. I don't go through enough not to buy that.

Ace Hardware’s are not all the same either.

Some don't know their butt from a hole in the ground, and could not tell you the difference between a 261 or 261c.

While other Ace's, the tech guy is a member of saw forums, and has ported saws from the old clan.
