Definitely a PITA.
I found a nest in the mezzanine of my garage a few years ago.
Two little grey Squirrells about 2 days older than that. Had their eyes open.
Definitely didnt want them to stay there, but couldnt kill them. (I know, I'm a softass bish)
I put them on the trunk of a big hollow Post Oak out near the road.
I have to think they made it, as my little place now has a METRIC *s-wordTON of squirrells.
As long as they stay out of my house and shop they can carry on.
If they decide to get too bold, well, I LOVE squirrell. Fried or in a Mull. With dumplings...

There was 7 of them, I don’t like them as adult they are little bastards. I left this rotten tree standing in the middle of a clearcut because there was this bird that kept returning to the hole, but I hadn’t seen it for weeks so I figured the fledgings left, I’d say the parent squirrels ate the baby birds and then made their own nest because the nest material was made up of bird feathers … they also like chickadee eggs and baby birds so that makes them a enemy of mine. Never had it in me to do much with the squirrel babies though so I put them back best I could for their survival lol
