Good morning fellas. A couple of more days of the stuck 90+ weather pattern here at the homestead.
Did a bit of garden upkeep and it looks like we'll have a good initial crop of tomatoes and a nice assortment of peppers.
Came back and tended to the strawberry patch, found many runners/daughter shoots starting, and a very good number of new berries
forming on the everbearing plants.

I would work somewhere else. You have skills man, I hope you have ac in your truck, or is it horse and buggy for you?
Well honestly for all the bs I put up with, the company pays me far too well to go elsewhere. Top av pay for a commercial/ electrician where I live is like $34.00/hr, which is crap. I make almost double that and don't have to bust my a$$ too often at the power utility. Plus the insurance is good.

The plants I work at don’t have ac unless you are a office dweller
Even their machine shop is not cooled by ac
On emergency outages we are not allowed in the units until they are down below 140
Summer time in the building you are looking at around 120 degrees of dry heat
Then you will see the office dwellers walking in wearing tennis shoes and shorts
While the plant guys turning the valves and checking on things are in jeans and steel toe boots

Air conditioning...lol.

I don't think some people understand how hard they don't work.

I'll tell you what boys..I'm starting to have more faith in young people, I never blame them for the way they are..look at the world they live in and who's raising them collectively.

My little buddy Dustin has worked for us for a year...he's 22, When that kid started I don't think he had a sniff of testosterone in him..ate junk food..looked like a little slacker with some of the queerest tattoos I've ever seen...loved his xbox..played on snapchat...never knew his dad..his mom sucks dicks for drugs..the kid and his life were a total mess, but he had the balls to show up..that was good enough for me.

My man is changing..in a major way, I'm proud of him, the muscle that kid has put on in a year is unreal and his demeanor has changed a bunch, I basically adopted him, he was terrified of me when he started now he calls me just to talk to me and ask me how to handle certain things.

I gotta get those green earrings out of his ears and get those tattoos re-done and he'll be a finished product.

Good for him for deciding it worthwhile to show up for work. And good for you for finding someone who thinks it worthwhile to show up for work. I know several retired guys who are back working driving truck, welding, machining, etc. because the younger folks can't get out of bed in the morning.

Hopefully he can slowly work his way up and take on more responsibility, make a man out of em, everybody else has abandoned him
