I saved it's life moving it from a road
It's old and furious it tried to chase me
Made it like 10ft

Just get the old bish off the road and away from folks like my grand daddy.
He woulda put her in a cage, hosed her down for a week and fed her, then dressed and ate her.
Trust me, you dont want her to bite you.
They dont let go, and will take a LARGE chunk of skin/meat/bone with them.
She's definitely OLD.
They can live well over 100 years.
Just trying to get back to where she was born to lay eggs.

I might add that ive helped my "paw paw" clean several.
People used to bring them to him when they found them crossing the roads, or caught them in fish baskets.
He was always respectful and humane with them, but they were food to him.
I can say from experience that they are DELICIOUS.
Fried or put into hash.
Very "clean" meat.

Make sure its snapping turtle.
People also eat soft shell turtles.
Those ARENT as good.
Snappers arent that good if you dont wet them(rinse the mud off daily) and feed them bread scraps for about a week.
Meat that you get is 4 legs, tail, and neck.
Tail will be almost flaky like fish when fried.
Rest is like chicken thighs. Sweet dark meat.
There is a little shell meat too. Also muscle meat like chicken thighs.

I fed Susan some turtle hash(some down here call it Brunswick stew) that my grandfather made in 1995.
He died in 1996.
This was about 2005, so been in the freezer for 10 years.
She said it was the best thing she ever ate.
Imagine if it had been fresh...

The weather guessers had forecasted several hours of showers for this afternoon, it looked promising for a while.

This was close to 6 this evening, well it missed us entirely for the time being. Sky is nearly clear at sunset.
Now we get lows around 68+/-2 degrees and forecasted highs of 90 give or take till at least Monday.
I actually hope we get the typical thundershowers that come with this kind of weather pattern, we need the rain, it's not sounding to promising for rain here.
