Only reason I'm messing with this one is it was CHEAP.
Think they gave him $2,500 for it. Could sell it now for the motor and come out ahead.
Hannah wants to fix it because it was her dad's. He passed away about a year and a half ago.
I get that, but if its gonna be a money pit, they would be better putting money into something better. Like a Ferd thats already had the head studs, EGR, and the FICM done on it. Those are solid, once that gets done.

They're all money pits. Thats why I never went the diesel route except my tractors. Most of my friends and family had diesel trucks of all makes. Most have went back to gas trucks because a repair bill of a few hundred vs a few thousand is a big deal

Yup

Had a 6.4 in my last service truck. It went kerblouey at 155 K. Of course, it was in a 2014 4500 4 door with an 11' service body. Truck weighed 18, 900 lbs loaded with all my crap. It also had to pull a 4500 lb scissor lift regularly, so it did WAY more than it should have. Somehow a roller lifter got turned sideways. Caused enough friction and contamination to seize the center cam bearing. Spun the cam timing gear right off when it locked up.
