One of two bridge travel gearboxes on a 28 ton travelling crane.
Was supposed to be posted about 8 hours ago.

Almost took longer to fill the bish wif oil than it did to rig a chainfall to a bar hoist, pull the motor, porta-power the old gear head off, clean the shaft and coat with Never-sieze, and reinstall the new gear head and motor.
Started at 1130. Had it all reinstalled at 1240. Took from then to 1345 to dribble 4.75 quarts of oil in.

She’s staying with my sister until I’m in better condition
I got to spend some hours with her today but I feel better if my sister is having her there at night right now

I quit for a month once.
Then I let myself give in to the bullchit a guy tells himself and started back.
If you can see that you dont NEED them for a normal day of life, you can quit.
I even felt better, saw the benefit of stopping, but still went back.

My grandfather had a quad bypass back in 1983.
Once he got over the soreness and his bones knitted back, he about killed me.

He was one of those that grew up hard.
Plowed ground with a mule.
Didnt buy a tractor til 1950.

Said that bypass surgery was like getting the motor rebuilt in your car.
Didnt know how weak it was til you got to drive it afterwards.

If you look closely at that giffy it looks like the guy is laughing as he rolls back and turns his head away, It was probably taken from a film and what that part of the Scene was ment to mean in the film is and probably sad as well as funny at the time, ie he’s learning to walk again.
