About a million dollars worth of sidewinder missiles brought down......

Done read a few articles about the same…folks raising hell about the cost of the ammo used. Lol

I knew it was coming…hard to justify launching that kinda ammo. The *s-wordt they’re squeezing the trigger with is just a little more costly than your average high dolla Weatherby ammo.

Definitely not 7/16 🤣
Our local Case IH dealer here in town had 7/8-9 UNC that were the length I needed. I bought the 2 they had on hand. I ended up ordering 8 new 7/8-14 x 9” from them later this afternoon. The course thread just doesn’t have the clamping force - it came loose once already today, even with the 1400 lb ft rated Milwaukee hammering at full throttle..

I checked with Fastenal first and they want $41/ea for them ordered to the store. Case IH sells them by the pound, and it ends up being about $12/ea including the washers and nut. Can’t beat that!
That's a great deal. I was going to suggest Cat as they use slot of 7/8" fasteners. But are gold priced for sure.
Prayers sent for Millie and the family and subsiding any future complications Boss.

Get off the site. Get that math homework done and be at that house at 8 Sunday morning. Dan misses you
Lol gotta be careful I don't cook my brain on calculus and forget how to start a saw.
Is that how you treat your elders ?

Morning, hope you bishes are all well. I've started disassembling the Skylark, got all the glass out, most of the trim off. This car has a lot of California Sunburn surface rust, so I'm trying to come up with ways to remove it. I did a test area with SEM Rust Mort on the passenger side of the package tray and you can see it looks much better than the drivers side.

Chemical dipping the body would be awesome but it is expensive, nearby place charges about $3k for a body shell. Media blasting is messy and labor intensive. I've heard about these mobile dustless blasting businesses and that may be an option. Otherwise phosphoric acid and rust converters are probably the way to go.
