They closed a couple Wendy's around here for the same reason. I actually liked their food but the service is absolutely atrocious and the restaurants were disgusting inside. I haven't been to one locally in years. Fast food service has really taken a hit in the last several years.

Wendy’s was like that around here until about 5 years ago the started opening new ones. Probably the best quality fast food burgers locally. Apparently their new breakfast is pretty good too.
Myself, I’m partial to the $0.99 Frosty in the summer.

Edit: Took a bit but found the picture I was looking for. First Friday of the month in summer I treat the staff.

Most fast food joints around here have half-ass people at best working in them and the inside conditions are a direct reflection. One thing about the chicken joints though, the folks in the KFC’s, Church’s, and Bojangle’s take it a notch higher and could give a *f-wordk less if the sun don’t shine tomorrow. Only exception being Popeyes…good employees and the insides are generally spotless in any of the three around here.

I'm gonna edit my list to add Popeyes. They opened a new one about a year or two ago and it's a damn good chicken sandwich. Its clean inside and fast and I like those pickled jalapeños on the counter.

They opened a brand new one here a few years back. They tore down the old store and built all new. It was nice for about 3 months and then it was back to being worse than before. I wish it would've stayed nice because I really do like their hamburgers.

Since we're on the subject of high perf vans, I lost a brake pad lining this morning on the way to the job, leaving only the backing to chew the shít out of the rotor pretty bad. Had a set of cheap pads in the shed so performed a little hackery to get me by till the weekend

Thats a LITTLE more than hackery.
For me, it woulda been the grinder with a flap disc and a bench vice to clamp it in.

About 6 years ago before my Celiac diagnosis I was visiting our store in Minneapolis, there was a Popeyes near the hotel I was staying at and I went to check it out. Was actually a old Wendy’s, hardly did any renos to the space and it was really run down. Food was crap and I was disappointed. They started opening new ones here and they are all the rage, just nothing I can eat there. Wife and son love the biscuits.

I have to agree with this.
Its all the same wherever you go down here now.
Poor housekeeping, lousy service, long wait times, and sub-par food.

Dives and mom/pop places are good, as long as ive got the time to wait, and I can get ole 10 ton Tonya in the parking lot.

I normally make breakfast at home and pack my lunch.
When I'm out of town, I get the hotel breakfast(its not horrible), pack my lunch, and grill something ive prepped for the week for dinner.
The weather down here usually isnt bad for "tailgating", and it beats waiting for something overpriced and unhealthy at a restaurant.

If I have to get fast food, Bojangles usually does ok in a pinch. Not a lot of Popeyes where I usually go.
Jersey Mike's or Firehouse are decent. Most Subways are disappointing.

I used to go to this place in southwest Detroit called Motz Burgers. They have these awesome sliders, I'd get like 6 or 8 of them. Trucking company had a yard about two miles down the road in Dearborn, I'd drop the trailer there and bobtail to Motz, park the semi in their tiny little parking lot and go back and get the trailer.

Motz burgers are good for your heart. Some good messkin food in SW Detroit right by the Ambassador Bridge.
