Things are definitely different than when/where I grew up.
If we had a problem with someone, one of us challenged the other to come back that chitlip up.
We would meet up in a place where there werent many people except us and whoever was friends with either side.
We fought it out bare knuckles til one said "enough" and then we were ok.
Might not have been besties after that, but we respected each other.

Did that with at least one gun close by in the truck or car.

Didnt take those out for things like that. Guns were only for critters and if someone was attacking and your life or your family was in danger.

Used to be a fan of some "knuckle dancing", but wouldnt dare try it now for fear the other dude would pull a gun.

You know what's weird..in theory...people should be safer now than they ever were. It's hard to get away with things these days, everything is on camera and if it isn't someone will take a video.

I swear the more rules that are made and the more surveillance they take the worse it gets.

This all comes down to culture..and ours is in bad shape.

Not so well according to the local news. We saw 3 different murder stories on the news tonight including the one that Ryan posted. It's like the wild west in different areas of the city. Glad that's not my hood.

I was helping people I know in Duquesne move and I was carrying a couch around a bend between 2 houses and about 50-60 shots busted off in sequences of 10...sounded like an uzi... I just dropped my end of the couch and ran around the corner and waited for it to stop. It's getting entirely too normal. It's like hearing a train on the tracks these days, it's just background noise.

I can tell you from first hand experience that some of these people that think they are "helping people of color" are doing the EXACT opposite. But then again..white people aren't in much better shape. They are as fukked up just in different ways..sorta..

Another problem is there are people out there that have BIG opinions on things they know virtually NOTHING about. That's why I'm not a social media person. I tried it once..no thanks.

This fat hog white girl I went to HS with is one of those people with the following signs in her yard :

BLM.
in this house we believe in science.
#translivesmatter.

You get my drift..the problem is..she's the same person that when she drives through a bad neighborhood she's also the type to tell her kids to roll up the windows and lock the doors. She "loves" those people as long as they don't live by her. A total hypocrite, just like the rest of her tribe. These types of people who react on emotion and not reason are now getting in to positions of power and the toll is being taken. Not on them obviously..but on the people they claim to care so much about.

I could boil it all down to culture.

Plain and simple.
