Good evening fellas. Went and scrounged some firewood this afternoon with my 3 older sons (11, 9, and almost 6). Got a little carried away with how much we loaded into my 6’x 12’ enclosed trailer. Basically a full cord of red oak…was waiting for a tire to blow out the whole drive home.

Sounds like something from my childhood.
My grandfather and his cousin shared a trailer made from the frame of a 2 ton GMC truck.
It was probably 12' long and 6' wide with a sheet metal floor and 4' tall sides.
They would load that thing level at the sides and round it up in the middle.
Pulled it with the 1950 Allis Chalmers model C.
1st gear, and the narrow front end was floating most of the way. Steered with brakes.
Would load, bring to the woodpile and offload/stack.
Have lunch, then go to the cousins property next door and do it again, all on a given Saturday.
Trees were standing before we started.
Those folks knew how to work, and all worked together.
They also shared one Mcculloch PM1010S that cut wood for both families.
