There are so few that actually decide who gets selected, the red team votes red no matter what, the blue team votes blue no matter what. Only when a team is really disappointed with their choice, they might not bother voting, and it doesn't matter anyway as there are like 5 toss up states, with the electoral votes to decide. Nobody is switching to the other team, regardless of who is there. The country is so divided, we are going to have to split up at some point. I don't see a reconciliation.

Besides, our neighbors to the north have their own dictator problem. Plus, so cold, I would have to move!

The only solution I see is to have smaller fed government/less centralized power and more power in individual states/ municipality’s. Then you will have a very diverse spectrum of laws and values that reflect the people actually living there.

pretty sure you guys already have a fair amount of power to the states, I wish provinces had more power over the feds

Any time a people trust their leaders to do whats right for them, they are giving those people the right to do what THEY feel is right(or most profitable) for themselves.

We lost the knowledge(or the will) to keep our elected officials working for us a long time ago.
