So far the Sodium Bicarb seems to be doing the job, not sure how I would go about training a weasel to not do things I don't want them to do. The problem peaked around August and we have been doing our best to remove any feed. I will always have mice as I have a barn full of hay. But we have been fortunate not to have many in the house. I need no more mouths to feed. Will try wetting the feed to reduce spilling. Chickens love to dig and scratch, so having them be neat is a non-starter. We have a containment fence, to keep them out of the disappearance zones (the woods), and they all get locked up daily at dusk, including the guineas (I have 20 of those).
Weasel typically only comes out at night so if yer coops are sealed should be ok. I have seen them in the day time rarely but that’s fine cause the chickens can defend themselves or run away, in the dark they’d get slaughtered, those weasels are the size of a the red squirrel but they can pack a punch. Had a mice problem last year, they got inside the house a couple times, now anytime I hear a crack or sound I think it’s mice and I can’t sleep.

Dunno if the smallprint will be able to be read, so I'll paraphrase.

"This Hikoki 36v battery has more computer power than Dell. It knows when you even think about taking a dump. It will tell you if it's faulty or not, not the other way round. Capiche?"

Do Hawks eat Rats?

yeppers…

;)

Rats are nocturnal and hawks aren't, so no, not really. Though they would!

it depends on the surroundings… if there nocturnal or not.. but that also relates to hunger.

I’ve seen a few rats during the day. But also know dusk & night time are when it suits them best.
