Wotcha working on?

Still fighting that wiring disaster I posted a pic of on like Monday. Keeps changing..chits hacked bad. Plus I've just got a ton of other crap to get done so that nightmare is just adding to the frustration. I'd really like to know what the clown did to that truck...

@hoskvarna you get many chickens out there? I didn't find one last year.20220923_173727.jpg

Driving around the national forest I noticed this bloom on an oak log I cut on last year. I was on a mission for ash firewood tonight but I'll be going back for these tomorrow. 20220923_173734.jpg 20220923_173732.jpg
They aren't much by themselves, but they're great in breakfast scrambles or buttered with peppers and onions or ramp bulbs on a steak.

Evening meat manglers!
Got off work a little early today and decided to get to the bottom of our well issue.(pun intended:D)
Noticed the pump cycling every minute or so last week.
Pulled everything out and replaced the foot valve. Noted the bladder tank was waterlogged at that time.
Foot valve didnt fix it.
Bladder tank slowed it down, but was still cycling every 5 minutes.
Makes sense.
Bladder tank added reserve to slow the pump demand. Still a leak down there somewhere.
Bought new pipes, fittings, and a jet kit today.
Finally found the leak.
Cheap plastic fitting that goes over the venturi and is the connector for the suction line had a crack where it threaded into the housing.

Had a 2014 Dudge for a service truck a few years ago.
I didnt even know about the flippy mirror thing when I got it.
Was *b-wording to a fellow employee about how the mirrors didnt extend to see around the utility bed.
He smiled and flipped them up for me.:p
I'll say they worked well as they were intended to.
The passenger side one on this Chevanationazu keeps vibrating itself back in so I cant see chit on the curb side.
Little silicone caulking will probably fix that.

Changed a wire rope on a hoist today.
Not bad on these little guys. 5/16" diameter rope. 365' length.
Just put the lower block down, disconnect the mechanical limit switch to keep it from getting out of time, run the rope off, splice it to the new one, and pull the new one through the sheaves.
Connect the new one to the drum, bring it up to the point you marked and reconnect the mechanical limit, and done.
Then clean up all that greasy arse old rope. :(
