You would think they would have use double wishbone instead of MacPherson strut suspension on something designed with performance in mind.

Good morning Adam, and everyone else too.

Looking at that lower a-arm it doesn’t look very substantial from the pic

Technical support and communications directly with the techs, service managers, and Komatsu directly. Will be on site and covering 8 branches. We have a lot of new techs, and managers and no direction. It should help in getting paid by Komatsu for warranty and keep the excessive parts changing trimmed. Guess we'll see if I'm up to it. Lotta travel but should help a little with the constant weather challenges I'm hoping anyhow. Plus I'm directly in contact with Komatsu which is my ultimate goal instead of going through managers. You know how that chit gets distorted and the blame game goes right Ed.

Congrats Tim, sounds like it should be a little easier on the body for you.

Morning guys.
Cleaning out the service truck this week. Making a career change at 61 years old. Big step for this fella.

Think you'll do well with that Tim.
Most of us older fellas know how to communicate, cause we like to run our yaps.:)
As long as who you are talking to understands...

Appreciate the words of encouragement Brent. I got the same from the guys at our branch. Surprised the chit out of me. Definitely looking forward to the changes and challenges.

Good for you Timofee. As the boys have already said, I think you'll be effin good at this. You have what we call "mana", respect that comes from genuine experience.
Get a pickemup instead of a horse drawn cart with the job? We love to judge pickemups...:)

Thanks for that Adam. Means a lot to me. As your well aware hard to get out of the comfy zone but going to roll with it for sure. Supposed to get a 4x4 with a Knack super box for some testing equipment.

Good luck sir Timothy [emoji256]

What you going to be doing Tim? Good luck. It is never too late to make a change.

Edit: Just finished catching up with the rest here. The hardest thing you are going to find, is watching someone struggle with things you handle easily. Patience is going to be your greatest struggle. Now that you know that, you will find it easier. I think with your experience and attitude, you will do well. Congratulations, you deserve it.

I got pulled out of a form work crew years ago, and saddled with a foreman position. Watching some guy struggling with something I could have done with ease was tough. I wanted to jump in and help. It took a few scoldings from the super before I got it. The best one was when he told me that while I was "helping" one guy, there were 13 others who might be *f-wording everything else up....that clicked with me.

The hardest part is watching others struggle with stuff we find easy. I am sort of the unofficial trainer in my branch, and watching someone struggle is the hardest part. But people don't learn when it is easy, they learn when they struggle. Watching them have that aha! Moment when it clicks is worth it. Like watching your kids finally figure out the two wheeler.

Tim will do fine. He has just the right amount of sarcasm to not offend. He is just making room for the next good tech to emerge. They will.
