Morning / Evening All. More rain overnight, not sure farmers are going to get crops in the ground this spring. Right when prices are soaring, we won’t be able to take advantage.View attachment 338055
Think of the money they are saving on fertilizer! Too soon?

Thanks again for the rain.

I only like half of this post.
You want a Li or a ke for the pic?

The comment was enough, Li or a ke is more like a meh…

A farmer interviewed on the radio yesterday made the joke, “I’m saving $1500/day in diesel costs…”

I don’t know how it works but they were talking about having to ‘fly the crops on” some fields. How does an airplane get seed in the ground? Sounds like spending pointless money just to be able to say you got your crop in, now pay the insurance.

Thanks, one of the best things about living on an expansive prairie is the sunrises and sunsets. I just don’t have the patience to wait for that perfect shot.

Morning Mark

Already got sand in the boat.
And I forgot a broom.
Otherwise, stellar morning. Nice breeze, upper 60s. Gonna get some coffee on.

Will you sleep on the boat or in a tent on the shore?

I think they can air drop seed as seedballs. Think of a seed wrapped in dry clay, dropped in a field. Gets wet and warm from the sun, sprouts up and roots go downs. Being wrapped in clay, the birds don't eat the seeds.

I hope things improve, can't stop myself from joking. Just see funny in almost everything.

Is it better to let it dry some before cutting or doesn't it really matter?
I know it needs to be a certain amount of dry when baled, I've seen wet bales smolder and combust.

Doesn't really matter if its wet when you cut it....but it will trap water under the thick grass and can cause mold. I'd rather let it dry a little bit.

Always slept in a tent on the beach. Trying sleeping on the boat this year, since we now have a little more room.

Either way should be great. I always sleep best when I can hear the water or feel the gentle rocking.
