Define? Not terms we use.

Edit: I lougle...
Ok, so you probably already got the gist, but swing shift is a rotation, usually every two weeks, from 3 or 4 days on/off on days to nights or vice versa. Usually 12 hour shifts.
I could never get used to it.
My son worked it for about 3 years before getting a day shift position.
Basically, you get 2 weekends off each month, and when you get the long "weekend", you go back on the opposite shift.
Clear as mud?

Ours is called 4 on 4 off.
But, its two days 0730 to 1930, a Swing Day the third day whereby you start two nights 1930 to 0730. Then four off. So eight 'day' rotation. Rinse and repeat.

Unfortunately, most of the "good" jobs are going to start you off on swing shift or stuck on 2nd/3rd for a few years.
What part of the state are you looking at generally? Dont need to be specific, just know a few customers of ours in TN.
I can also get with our Chattanooga branch to see if any of their customers are something youde like, or maybe even see if they want a new crane tech.
You aint afraid of heights is you?:D
PM me if you want. I'm glad to help however I can.

Nights would work better for me really. It would help not having a day care bill.

And wife has job offers in Chattanooga or Columbia.

Bigger question is why are you visiting a porta potty in TN on vacation?
Those things are sketchy AF in cooler weather, downright biohazards in this heat.:vomiton22je:

We stopped at a park for lunch and a leg stretch. Surprisingly it was damn clean.

Hmm.
Maybe google opportunities with Heil and Astech?
Also Bull Moose steel.
Seem to be decent companies to work for, and damn beautiful country around there.

Cept you're supposed to sleep between nightshifts sometime tho?
Sleep is overrated. You miss out on so much being unconscious n stuffs...
Speaking of, I guess I gotta go to bed.
Last day before our camping trip for our Memorial Day weekend begins.
We try to do justice to our fallen brothers and sisters by having a good time in their honor, while still remembering that their sacrifice allows us to do so.
My favorite and most sacred holiday.

Those are fair size hospitals, might be they have need of night time maintenance personnel. ;)

Jobs are not really a problem, there are many to be had. The Chattanooga area housing market is crazy stupid right now. My son has been trying to buy a place and they keep going for 50-70k over asking price. I keep hearing it is slowing down, but have seen no evidence of it. If maintenance is your gig, there are many openings in the auto industry too. Electromechanical techs are always in demand. Between Athens, Cleveland and Chattanooga there are many jobs with not many qualified candidates.

I know some people in this area, I can help get your foot in some doors, feel free to pm if you want an offline conversation. Many here will help.

All the rest stops in TN are clean and nice. Back road get the litter. Ask me how I know.

Morning / Evening All. Sun is shining for the 4th day in a row. Just enough rain in the afternoon to cancel plans to sit out on a patio with friends.

Skipped the walk this morning, not feeling 100%. Didn’t want to be caught too far away from the chitter.
