I have 3 trucks with the 5.7 hemis, you have to drive it like a complete jackass, to get single digit mileage.

I average 13-15 with mine, drive it like a grandpa, I've got 17-18.
around here you dont get that
if pulling a trailer its even less

@Lightning Performance told me a story this weekend about someone he knew or something talking about the Appalachians being the biggest mountains in the country, so @dall might be on to something. Lol.

That's one fubarred gland. Looks to have been broke for awhile. The heavy screwdriver pry marks are interesting. Still trying to see what retains that in the barrel? A female gland nut of some sorts?? Help an old nosy guy out here Boss.

It has a external snap ring that keeps it from being pulled into the cylinder bore. You get that one off, then drive it into to bore, which uncovers an internal snap ring. That one is tricky to get out. Once it's out, then the gland can be removed.

You saw Kenny? Is still mad at me?

So....I ordered a new gland. John Deere calls it a guide. 188.00

Then Jonathan is spraying the pastures with the Massey 175, and I rode out to tell him it was supper time. I noticed something leaking under the fuel tank. Return line had a hole rubbed in it. After we ate, we pulled the sheetmetal and fuel tank off. Gonna make a new line for it. Valve cover has been leaking since we got it. Well no wonder.....it was loose. It's always something.

Well considering the highest point in WV is spruce knob, at 4,863 feet.

And CO has 600 mountains that summit over 13,000 feet, and 58 that are over 14,000 feets,

I'd have to say that guy knows what he is talking about.......

Jackass must not know to shut the PTO off, before pulling into the gravel alley and turning around, before going back to the grass.

I drove across our gravel drive once with the PTO on, when I was 11, dad yanked me off the mower by my ear, he finished off with his leather belt, getting his point across.
