My Dad just got this put up in his smokehouse.

Here's an abbreviated as I can back story.
This deer was shot by a good family friend, Dan "Java" Wilson.
Back in the early 80's while working for a railroad he was involved in an auto accident and ejected through the windshield. I recall when I was a kid him having enough use of his hands to drive with hand controls, but that faded over the years.
You'd be hard pressed to find a kinder or more giving person than Java. All he wanted to do was live. He was set on becoming the oldest quadriplegic in the world.
He loved to hunt. He was fortunate to take some nice Alabama whitetail on his property there (moved because he couldn't tolerate the climate as well here). He also did a few high fence hunts and this is the product of one of those.
He saved all the meat and my Dad would process it into sausage, jerky, etc. for him.
Sadly, we lost Java this past Thanksgiving day morning. My Dad couldn't go to the funeral due to his own health at the time which tore him up.
Java's daughter contacted my Dad and told him she wanted him to have the choice of his deer mounts.
This one isn't the prettiest, but the hunt was on video and you can see the joy and happiness of him taking this crazy deer.
Pretty cool as it now feels like he's still there watching Dad make the version sausage and jerky.
Here's the video for those who care to watch.
