You should move.
We are keeping hay out also, but the goats really don't need it. We are greened up here and leaves are sprouting. Pears already blossomed, and right now dogwoods are currently. Our grass has been slow to get going. I'm still keeping hay out.
Same here

How many bales do y'all usually feed out each year?
I have a friend who does rotational grazing that swears he can get 40 head of momma cows thru on less than 50 bales a year.....and on less ground than I have.
Dad?One thing is for sure. Mark Adam has a good ring to it. If I ever have a man child.....I'm gonna consider that name.
Mark Adam Evans
Have you looked at what Joel Salatin is doing in VA? Granted, he is doing more than beef, but the ideas are the same. The infrastructure to divide paddocks is high initially, but you may reduce hay usage considerably. Hard to change the way we've always been doing things. How many bales do y'all usually feed out each year?

80 cows and 1 bale per day #1000-1200
Depends on how long the winter lasts
I’ve heard of guys doing that
Different ball game up here though because of temps etc

Right?
You'd think the guy would be out there with that newly acquired Solo swinging that thing around like a Jedi or some chit.
