What kind of blades are you using?

Type of blade does not matter.
Bahia is abrasive as sand.
It will dull bush hog blades much faster than corn stalks.

I have to mow 2 acres if bahia around the farm house all summer. If you let it grow for more than 14 days it will bog a 6' bush hog and 55hp JD tractor.

Use them Oregon Gator blades myself.
Dallas must use a gay blade, with all his queer talk.

I guess some have a "hardened" cutting surface for longer running intervals.

I’ve tried some of the Gator line in the past, basically the same dulling/re-sharpening results. Out of Rotary, Husky, or the Gator blades...I get a little better longevity and more cuts before re-sharpening, out of the Rotary blades.

Sister's place I'm going to rip all of them out and put standard one's in.

Who makes ‘em is the biggest factor. I’ve had 14 Leviton switches of the same style in my kitchen/breakfast area (they were already here when I bought the home in ‘07)...and have never had a single one fail yet.

We cut 10 acres of Bahia at the in-laws place in Swainsboro. Thats what bosslady is up to this week. Cant let it go more than 2 weeks. Get 2 cuttings out of a set of blades before sharpening. OEM Gravely and have tried Oregon blades. About the same. Usually it wears through the ends at the airlifts and starts splitting.

Yep. I've got Leviton rocker switches upstairs. Never had one fail in 25 years. Standard switches downstairs....I've replaced a couple 3 ways.

...the outermost hi-lift wing is the most vulnerable point on all of ‘em. It wears the quickest, regardless of mfg’r. Then the second hi-lift wing starts to go.

Obviously not 12/3, or 12/2 and a ground if ya wanna term it that way, Romex. That *s-wordt looks about like 14ga at best now that I look at the pic again.

Would def re-sharpen and keep as a get by set...or throw ‘em on when you wanna *f-wordk up some leaves and not dull newer blade sets.
