@Mastermind and others…

For you up and coming appliance salvage guru’s when it comes to putting new life into a fridge or freezer that *s-wordt the bed on ya, here’s your best buddy…a relay overload start capacitor, as well on top of replacing the klixon overloads. And I’d write down this mfg and part number, some are gonna need it one day, trust me. If not, Lowes or HD will always have your $1-3K new, replacement appliance waiting for you.

Very good information there Bub.
You are sharp tonight, seriously that's good info.
Do you want to talk about discharging the capacitor before F'ng with or just see the new fro hair styles??

Good evening guy's

Checked on Paul
He was hand feeding 7 does and a button buck when I pulled up
The bucks wait about an hour to come and eat
Cautious I guess.

Lol…it’s fairly simple and takes about 20 min’s (that includes getting the freezer/fridge away from the wall so you can get behind it to do the operation), but if someone is fearful of a capacitor to begin with, they prob oughta just hire someone to do it…or make that high dolla trip to Lowe’s/HD.

Now what’s pictured in the bag is the old *s-wordt (cover, couple of wires with spade terminals, and overload) that came out of my side-by-side fridge/freezer out in the shop.

Kinda sucks that they dont make the old bimetallic Klixons that they used to. You could reset those.
The new ones just have thos little tablet-looking insert thats held between spring loaded fingers. Sometimes you can turn them around and get another go out of them.
Had our old one do that when I was out of town. Bosslady got a new one. I fixed the old one and kept it out in the lean-to for a beer fridge for another 7 or 8 years before the compressor locked up.

Yep…rarely see the good bimetallic any more. Nowadays they’re all a heavy ceramic/graphite-base mix with an alloy, the heat eventually makes ‘em brittle over the years and poof…yer *s-wordt don’t run anymore. I’ve seen ‘em go out in less than a year on some of this newfangled bullshitt they’re producing now…I’m talking $3K Samsungs and *s-wordt.

Is there a shortage somewhere?…Lowes and HD here got plenty and then some of all flavors and sizes.

Here there is. Everyone bought one for the pandemic and now they can't be resupplied, so even washer driers, etc., are in low supply. Lot's of empty places at the grocery store as well. I figure when I go to a quicky stop type gas station and one has no butter and one has no milk because they(manufacturer) have no containers to put them in, that we're getting in bad shape, this is the Dairy State ffs.

For those looking for a helluva deal on a miter saw setup…DeWalt DWS715 single bevel 12” miter saw and the DeWalt heavy duty miter saw stand with telescopic supports (little over 12’ extended), and with quick-detach miter saw mounting brackets. The saw alone on Special Buy right now is $199, the stand is regular $199 everyday. You’re damn near getting one or the other for free. Throw in 10% and it’s even sweeter if you get a mil discount. Home Depot…free shipping as well.

This Special Buy deal ends in roughly 4 hrs and 55 min’s…
