I gotta go look at a Kawasaki klx 300r with my son later.. he wants it as his pit bike is to small and slow. He’s almost 19 and 6ft tall;)

well we got the bike..I wheel spun it in 3rd and 4th gear across a wet field:D

and it only just fitted in my trailer..

Ok. My first attempt at brazing. Finished product. My buddy picked up the BBQ paint. I would have went flat. Anyway, you can braze with map gas but it was a challenge around the pipe because of the chimney effect. Once I figured that out, I blocked the outlet with a 1"x 1"x 1/4" piece of steel and then the heat stayed in. On the rear corner, location of the original hole, I cut a couple strategically placed slits in the oem deflector and folded it over said hole and brazed the seams shut.
Also there were 4 little holes in the face from ripping out the convoluted junk inside. Can't see them now. Musta done something right with the torch.

Oh, used that 3/4" id dom tubing ma wife gets me as scrap.

See? Nuffin to it main! Looks better than the one I gas welded. Couldnt find a small enough filler rod.
There was a lot of grinding I had to do.

Good morning Sean how was your weekend buddy

it went like this, I got messed about by this lass that couldn’t make time to come sailing with me on a mates boat. Silly cow  apparently we missed out on a good days sailing
So I went killing trees instead, and thought of her legs & arms while cutting

it made me feel much better. :risas3:

No really I needed to get my mind actively thinking about other things and not sitting on a boat sending her pics of what she was missing,

i did enjoy my day ;)

Nice! Rode a KX450F that a friends son had ONCE.
Only once. :eek::confused::D
That thing was WAY too snorty to do anything but go around a track.
Would have taken a rear sprocket bigger than the rim to tame it for trails.:)
Son had a Beta for a short while. Had the KTM motor. Not sure which series. That one was better, but still geared a little tall.

You'd like my Husky(KTM) TE250. Two stroke tractor. It'll dawdle crawl without snatching in first and go 60mph plus in 6th if that's what you want.

Been working on the Dodge. Got it vacuumed and pressure washed the engine bay and outside. Wheels are still filthy. Probably need a scrub with an SOS pad.

Got the alternator to charge, EGT guage working, eliminated some more scotchloks, and slowly getting the antique torque converter lockup and exhaust brake removed. I plan on putting the exhaust brake back on, but all of the wiring for it is fugged.

Thats definitely more my speed.
Got a friend thats got a KTM woods bike. 300 or 350. I cant remember which. 2 stroke, set up a little taller geared than yours. Had a Lectron carb and a Slevins "Mule" head for a little more compression.

It'll be a 300. We run 13/52. I'd say his is 13/48 or 14/50 sprocket combo, good if it's open ride and you don't mind the thought of a 70mph human cartwheel if the unseen pops up.

My XR650R was factory geared and ran 95-99 top speed depending on the terrain. First gear was low enough it was almost unneeded.
Only 650 I ever rode was a Yamaha XS?650. Dual sport. Gears were a little tall for the trails we were riding, but it would lug over anything in its way. Logs, stumps, whatever. I just hung on prayed.
Always liked something a little smaller and more manageable for the woods. Never raced.
