That’s why they have a low oil sensor now, don’t know if they have an idiot cut off or not. Back in the mid/late 90’s the polaris sleds would turn the oil light on and if you were to ignorant to fill it up the next step was to cut the ignition so you didn’t blow it up by running out of oil.

GM hasn't used an oil level sensor in a long time.
Last one I can recall was in the 3.8 in early 2000's.
