A whole lot of us came from Arboristsite. There is a forestry and logging forum with a lot of full-time, life long PROfessional loggers and such; literally centuries of experience. Their knowledge is unbelievable. Great bunch of guys, but (always a but in the story), they could be f'n brutal (downright arseholes at times) to newbs, firewooders, cookie cutters and amateurs. Thick skin was a must. So somebody started a "Not So Pro discussion...of course pros are welcome!" thread in their forum in 2013 and it is still relatively active today, not near as much as it used to be though. It only seemed natural to have a NSP thread here too. Now we have 3 and counting...
