GS Stage 1s are cool rides. You gots a sedan wif a solid V6 motor, and then you put a hair dryer down the intake and a Hoover on the exhaust. More GOODER. Respect those. The Ferd Thunderbird STC was a decent try, but fell short. They should have used the 2.9 V6 for that instead of the stupid Pinto 2.3 liter...

Later there was the thunderbird super coup. Supercharger in a 3.8 v6 if i recall. They were pretty fast as were the tore asses with the yamaha v8.

One of my good friends dad worked for Eaton Corp in Athens, GA. They made the superchargers(maybe compressor side) for the Thunderbird Turbo coupes. His nieces husband had one. He said they were a version of the 2.3 I4.
Please correct me if I'm wrong, or if they offered different options.
Only 3.8 that comes to mind was the GM variant that's been around since the late 50s. Thats the one they put in the Buick GS Stage 1. About 225 cubes if I remember right.
They make good repower motors for old Willys flatfenders and pickups too.

My friend out of high school had a turbo coupe. He flogged it so hard coming home one night we popped the hood and the manifolds were glowing. It did alright but a Grand National or T-Type Regal it was not.
