I like her thought process Ed. The VDubs have a good following, still find used whole or parts vehicles, and aftermarket stuffs abound. You would be a good teacher, and I'm sure the quality time together would be beneficial to both of yinz. Have her look at the spark plug and tool pouch under the hood on the silver #653. Little touches like that make it personal. Here is a style I've never seen. Don't know the history. But bed sides and tailgate hinge down to a flatbed. Kinda cool maybe not so much for her though.View attachment 303125 View attachment 303126

We had those VW trucks here in Canada a few years, still a couple of them around. See lots of them in Mexico too.

You just want to see me type it. *s-word looks fantastic. The smoke ring is so perfect I'm guessing electric(which I'm warming up to) but I missed what you're using. I've been absent.
We bought a Pit Boss Pro 1150 pellet smoker/grill. Not as smoky of flavor as the old offset charcoal smoker with hickory chunks. But super simple to use. Starting to get the hang of it. Hows things in Mitchigan

Thanks for the pickup Gary. The Trager pellet stuff looks attractive too. I can't make a ring so pretty on my WSM but I'm hooked by what I get off of it. When I can actually get time to cook.
We have made ribs about 5 times with it. Totally badass results. My cousin has had a Rec-Tec for a few years. Getting lots of good info from him.

Tough to beat fire and flesh. The open fire at the cabin with other veggies and foraged stuff has been fun.

I can get a real nice smoke ring on my WSM. Not sure if it works or not but I also like tha flavour. Mix a little celery seed on your rub. Second was was a hot and fast full packer in under6 hours.

Mens? A kiwi just got bronze apparently.

Mens it was. Finished 15, was a major disappointment for him. Was cramping during the run. Peaked too soon, won the last warm up event 4 weeks ago.
