I watched some fullas on youtube bash a brand new set of headers so flat they looked like dalls love life and it didn't seem to make much dyno difference.

Engine masters did that. Rest assured, making a clearance dent here or there on an ill fitting header does zero to effect performance. I love that show. They bust the crap out of some old wives tales.

What did you use for that initial break-in? An oil with high zinc like a diesel oil? Rotella or something like that?

Rotella and a high zinc additive from Lucas.
