They don’t take much tweaking. 40s mod out faster than the 60s. Same block but port timing is different on the 60 in a bad way. Gear ratio on the 60 won’t allow you to raise the exhaust more than it is either.
Mine didn’t have anything done to it. But the first time I ran it, it scared the *s-word out of me. I put a fin on the back to get it out of the water a little bit better and slow it down some. Since then the boat and equipment got heavier and I dropped to a 14

Sold the motor about 10 years ago to another duck hunting buddy and bought a 50 to put on my current duck boat. Put a 25 on the Jon boat and gave it to my son as a fishing boat. Last year he sold that and bought a Lund with a newer 40 Merc on it

4s Mercs are where it’s at. Maybe a tad slower but awesome fuel economy and Cary loads way better

I’m running 4s tohatsu now. 40-50 with some light mods. Love the fuel economy and plenty fast enough. I don’t care about racing anymore

where did you get that tool ?

yes a lot cheaper but then again I’ll never buy a new truck
I’ll keep with the used stuff
The so called North Carolina squat is retarded but then again the trucks are owned by people half our age lol
So that dumbfuckery came from back east, explains everything.

Afternoon all. Been a busy couple days. Spent the morning getting a bunch of free lumber and cattle fencing. Was a border around a 32x32 garden. Just gotta de-nail it all. I'm happy about the score. Love to repurpose materials

Sweet meth lab.
