Use it after. It was explained to me that it breaks down the urushiol which causes the irritation. That of course is anecdotal ymmv. I've also had good luck with detergent (dawn dish soap) instead of soap for showers after exposure as well. Basically treat it like it's auto grease/ oil. Never did have good luck with store bought prevention stuff.

Super long day. I'm running on fumes now. Cut the grass after work and the water pump froze up on the Cub Cadet and broke the alternator belt. Maybe @redline4 can get VaJayJay to give me a quote on fixing it.
