Water engrossment never did make a good lubricant. Love all the metal hanging on the gasket Ed. Damn that gonna get expensive but at least you gotz a bench job. LOL!!

Even better, the front diff is making some nice noises too. And he has 2 different size tires on the front.
He has an extended warranty, so now it's wait to see what they say.

It doesn't appear to be a flood vehicle.
Anything is possible though.
The rear diff drain plug was loose and leaking. I'm thinking more "dumb owner" doesn't do anything about spot in driveway and just keeps trucking.

Sister-in-laws Mazda 6 AWD wagon didn't even like same size pairs front and rear but different manufacturers. Rolling radius must have been out just enough. Four the same, all gravy.
