Sup friends. Turbine controls proved out and fires in tonight. Problem is I’m not confident that the problem that was starting the fires was resolved with the little modifications that the engineers made to the bearing seal. We will see how it goes. How y’all are?

One of tje sister in laws spotted this axe head under the edge of an old outbuilding on their land.
I can see it says US87.
Nothing else there. Not high quality, but I do like the shape of it.
Anyone know anything about it?

Doing good. Ordered parts for the 025 project saw. Should be here Saturday

Nice to know a pattern or style. Ive got 4 or 5 more at home of different types. Couple of Collins, and some others with no markings.
Hafts are hard to come by locally.
Used to be able to go to the local hardware store and get some decent hickory.

Common to all the possibilities we had was that we let the egoism, and this wonderful "there is no one to tell us anything, we do as we please" attitude, prevail.

Just found an article on different types of axes.
This one looks like a Kentucky style more than the Jersey.
Little shorter top to bottom. Lots of drop to the poll.
My grandfather used a Jersey pattern. I'm sure its still propped against the back wall of the back porch.
Need to look at it next time I go up.
