Just another example of dumbing down a trade because most in it can't be bothered doing it properly.
If a rim and tyre needs excessive weight, break it down and spin the tyre 180degree relative to the rim. If still no good, split the difference and move 90degree.
Blow the tyre up hard to seat the beads properly before setting road pressure.
Before you balance it spin it slow by hand and watch it carefully for runout with your eyecrometer.

Or, get a roadforce? machine and absolve yourself of all engagement in your work. FFS.

This actually gets further into it than just wheel and tire run-out.
It will measure the stiffness of the sidewall and the tread block. It will also tell you where to mount it on the wheel for optimal balance.
We see tires that have no visual runout, balance with minimal weight, yet still have a vibration.
Bigger wheels cause this *s-word.

The technology is great if one knows how to use it to get great results.
Our lubies still stack adhesive weights and balance without removing old weights and the like.
They always have less than stellar results and normally have to balance them 2-3 times..
