Oh they will most definitely crack. I just don't want any freak explosions. They've been sitting wet under melting snow and rain water for years. If it works out alright I'll replace them with fire brick next year.

Maybe heat them up on top of the stove first

I'd have to sub it out....I'm too old to raise my leg that many times anyway.

You could just do the new members sub out the old dirty fuggers.

I live on a high ridge it dries fast.
The lower area's take much longer to dry out especially the red clay mud area's.
It was *4 saturday night 74* yesterday
And 42* so far today.
When I was a teenager in the 80s
I went camping at summersville lake
With friends
It was 60* all day we fished/drinking heavily
I had on tennis shoes and a t-shirt I
Went to sleep on a cot next to the fire
With a thin blanket
At about 9pm
At 6am it was 25/28 degree's and I had
5-6" of snow on me
And about froze to death.

Picked up a oil cap for the 90 year old neighbor and sharpened the chain.
He ran that 290 all day yesterday while
He uses a cane in one hand for balance
And runs a saw in the other hand.
You'd have thought I brought him a new saw
He's so happy to have this back.
Mixed up 8 gallons efree gas

I had to buy efree because winter gas here boils in saws when temps heat up.
